A few of the common phrases used by the people of today (yesterday).

It’s true, the it has been hot, although as I write it’s actually quite cold – making it quite hard to keep in character.

I hadn’t realised how hot it was until I witnessed items in a shop window melting.

Dali would be spinning in his grave (at 120 rpm).

John Prescott was meeting and greeting the public beside the burger stand of Leith Walk.

I’ve never eaten at this particular establishment, but have heard good reports regarding the Jumbo Dog with onions.

John Prescott doesn’t like onions - this was discussed at length to a disinterested 7 month old child (pictured above).

They say you shouldn’t base your vote solely on the burger toppings a political party does or does not eat, but given that voting for your favourite colour no longer works we need to start looking for a new approach.

I’d be interested in hearing from the other political parties with regards to their choices of condiments and views on fried onions.

It’s time to get down to the nitty gritty and go feet first into the political pram, who’s going to push?

Having not written anything online for well over two months I thought I better explain myself.

So here is what’s on the agenda:

• Needlessly taking apart my washing machine, braking it, calling my plumbing friend, and proceeding to fix it;
• Two trips to Ikea, one portion of meatballs, verdict to be discussed;
• Full scale decoration with no professional training;
• Tools and my sudden urge to acquire them;
• A stolen sofa;
• Hangovers now replaced with BnQ;
• Saying it best, when I say nothing at all;
• Eating cake at specified times;
• Construction of furniture;
• Affinity with wine;
• Animosity with a Flat Company (to remain nameless);
• etc.

Leith – so cold I bought gloves.

Last week WithWood went out disco dancing in Leith, which resulted in a mixed review:

Ocean terminal is a strange venue in which to trip the light fantastic, entering a club via escalator and queuing up besides Starbucks is an odd way to get the party started, especially since no espressos were available mid queue.

We’d already seen Felix in the same venue a couple of weeks prior and that was a rip-roaring success, as a result we decided to make a blanket assumption that all other nights would follow the prescription.

The Annie Mac night was a little bit annoying, which either means I am becoming less tolerable of mankind or not preparing thoroughly to become tolerable before putting on my dancing shoes.

Issues were as follows:

• The queue took approximately 3 days, even though tickets were pre-booked;
• Average age in the dance hall was 17;
• Drinks spilt as a result of arrogant dancers/pushers amounted to 3;
• The music was too quiet and then at one point non-existent.

Redeeming features:

• FakeBlood;
• The participating crowd WithWood;
• Proximity to the flat.

A lot of the signs seem to tie in with me getting older – trouble hearing, revelling in the short distance home and complaints about the ill mannered youths of today.

I need to go out again and re-assess my perspective.
